DJ Trevor and I are pleased to have been given an opportunity by WVKO radio to produce and air the first reggae radio program in Columbus, Ohio in several years. The 3 months we were on the air provided us with a platform from which a valuable commodity resulted. The feedback through the many calls and letters to the station was extremely gratifying and made us know that we were filling a void in local radio programming that a large segment of our community appreciated. It also encouraged us to do even better - better for ourselves and better for our supporters and our loyal listeners.

To that end, we have successfully moved our show to the more highly regarded and more powerful FM station – WWCD, affectionately known as CD 101. We have not only changed our frequency, but also our show’s name. “Island Riddims 101” is airing, locally, on Sundays, from 7pm to 9pm, on 101.1 on your FM band, streams worldwide on www.cd101.com. That’s right – as an Island Riddims 101 supporter, you now have a worldwide presence.

The power is not only with the worldwide web, but locally as well. According to the latest Scorborough research data, for adults over 18, CD 101 reaches over 92,905 listeners every week. 87,660 of those are between the ages of 18 and 44, and 47% of those have at least a college degree or more. You, as one of our valuable and highly appreciated supporters, will be interested and delighted in knowing that over 88% of this particular socioeconomic category of listeners are employed and 43% earn above a $75K annual income.

We are grateful to WVKO for the time and start that they gave us for our show, Caribbean Rhythms, and we left on good terms with no bridges burned, having delineated the pro’s and con’s in comparison of each station’s capabilities to match our personal goals for the show. We graciously received an offer from WVKO to consider returning or adding them should their capabilities improve.
